Bay Area Eat-A-Thon

I had a great solo trip to visit friends in Oakland. The weather was fantastic and it was wonderful spending time with Sheena, Doug & Ava. I pretty much ate my way through the weekend, with an exercise class thrown in the mix. Since moving away five years ago, tons of new, amazing restaurants have popped up!

Boy's Weekend - Wyatt and SuperDad

(download)
I had 3 days to fill, just me and my lil' buddy, Wyatt.  I quickly realized that I was going to trash the house, shower infrequently, eat leftovers/delivered pizza, and just make sure that we had the most fun weekend ever.  Here are some highlights (and lowlights) -
  • stomping in the water at Golden Gardens; very fun until Wyatt fell and was soaked in frigidly cold water - and then he pooped, forcing a sandy quick change on the beach - ouch, very gritty
  • dinner at Thaiku was good, I sucked down a Mai Tai in record time; then Wyatt discovered how fun it was to fling rice across the room so we wrapped up dinner pretty quick
  • next day:  ummm, why is he waking up at 6am? (he did this 2 days in a row; his normal wake up is around 7)

Make a Wish

Wczud00z

Wyatt has discovered the joy of blowing dandelion seeds. It is really cute, he exclaims "more, more" each time the seeds get dispersed. The only down side is that he puts the dandelion so close to his lips, that the seeds often get stuck to his lips and he inhales them. Next I'll teach him the concept of "making a wish" when you blow.

18 Months!

Dear Wyatt,

You are 1 1/2 years old today! Happy half-birthday. You continue to amaze me everyday. You are such a big boy now - literally, you weigh at least 30 pounds. You drink from cups (bottles are for babies!), you sleep through the night; except for your occasional wake up for misssing binky. You say lots of words now including: Mama, Dada, Nana, All Done, Bath, Bubbles, This, That, Mine, Cheese, Bird, and Octopus. You love to read books. You make lots of animal sounds and can identify your body parts. You sign all-done, more, and please. You love birds and dogs, especially when they lick your face.

I love you so much,
Mom

Wyatt's phrase of the week: "buh-bye". Buh-bye to Nana & Poppy, buh-bye to the cars as they pass by, buh-bye to me this morning as I am putting on my jacket (mind you I am the one taking him to school). UP is also really popular, and uppy. We had a great weekend, Wyatt stayed over at my parents on Saturday night and the three of us went to the beach on Sunday to enjoy the springtime sunshine.
